67. Mr. De la Bèreasked the Minister of Agriculture whether, having regard to the increased demands made upon the Ministry of Agriculture, he is satisfied that the present organisation is adequate for the work of his Department; and whether it is proposed to modify or increase the organisation at the Ministry?
§ Mr. RamsbothamThe very considerable additions to the work of the Ministry in recent years have, in fact, necessitated a number of changes in the organisation, and the position is kept constantly under review in order that the organisation may continue to be commensurate with the demands made upon the Department.
Mr. De la BèreWill the Minister take steps to see that some of these splendid servants of the public who are with the Ministry are not in any way throttled and stifled in putting forward good schemes?
§ Mr. RamsbothamI would remind the hon. Member that he himself is causing additional strain on my right hon. Friend's Department.
§ Mr. ManderMay I ask whether it would be in order to congratulate the Government on the return of the hon. Gentleman to the fold?
