HC Deb 25 March 1937 vol 321 c3052
15. Major Hills

asked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware that a case has occurred where boys sent by a voluntary committee from the North to a factory near London were suffering from sores and were in a very bad condition of health; and what steps are taken by the Ministry to supervise the conditions under which such transferences are made by voluntary committees?

Mr. E. Brown

I could not attempt to identify this case without further particulars, which perhaps my right hon. and gallant Friend will send to me. As regards the second part of the question, I have no power of supervision of the activities of voluntary committees.
