HC Deb 23 March 1937 vol 321 cc2729-30
22. Lieut.-Colonel Heneage

asked the Secretary of State for War whether in view of the general advantages of training and of encouraging the recruiting of officers for mechanised units, he will extend the period for which forage is allowed for a second horse beyond the beginning of April?

Mr. Cooper

No, Sir. The whole matter was carefully considered in all its aspects, including those mentioned by my hon. and gallant Friend, before a decision was taken, and I see no reason to reverse it.

Lieut.-Colonel Heneage

Will the right hon. Gentleman consider reviewing this matter at a later period as a result of the experience gained?

Mr. Cooper

I will consider it.
