HC Deb 18 March 1937 vol 321 cc2255-6
57. Mr. Liddall

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware of the proposed increase in the number of restaurants giving a full theatrical performance, e.g., the London Casino; and whether he is prepared to see that these restaurants pay Entertainments Duty on the same scale as the ordinary theatre?

Mr. Chamberlain

The liability of the London Casino to Entertainments Duty is the subject of legal proceedings which are now pending.
