asked the Prime Minister whether he is now in a position to make a statement with regard to the policy of His Majesty's Government in regard to the Report of the Royal Commission on the Private Manufacture of Arms?

A White Paper on this subject is now in course of preparation.

Is my right hon. Friend aware that, having regard to recent happenings on the Continent and the much increased need for defences in this country, there is a widespread feeling that this question is already dead?
