HC Deb 11 March 1937 vol 321 c1316
12. Mr. A. V. Alexander

asked the Minister of Labour whether, in view of the report, to which his attention has been drawn, issued by the Youth Committee of the Industrial Christian Fellowship, concerning conditions under which young people are working in the distributive trades, he will say what steps he proposes to take to bring immediate relief to young persons in these trades from the long hours and low wages revealed therein?

Mr. E. Brown

I have not seen the report to which the right hon. Member refers. The question of machinery for regulating conditions of employment in the distributive trades is at present being considered in consultation with representatives of employers and workers in those trades.
