The report of the Royal Commission will be published shortly.

Miss Wilkinson

Cannot the right hon. Gentleman give us anything more definite than that in view of the great uncertainty that is caused, particularly among local government officials at Tyneside, while this thing is in the air?

Sir J. Simon

I appreciate the importance and urgency of the matter, and I hope it will be possible to make an announcement within a very few days.

Is it not a fact that the report has been in the hands of the Government for an exceptionally long time?
