HC Deb 04 March 1937 vol 321 cc505-6
1. Mr. Logan

asked the Minister of Labour whether, in view of the number of men and women engaged in temporary employment, he is prepared to allow dual registration enabling them also to register at Employment Exchanges for the type of work for which they are qualified?

The Minister of Labour (Mr. Ernest Brown)

Employment Exchange officers already have instructions to register unemployed persons for alternative occupations for which they are qualified, in addition to their main occupation.

Mr. Logan

Is it the custom to enter the men in a dual capacity at the Exchanges, and is the right hon. Gentleman aware that that is not done in Liverpool?

Mr. Brown

This is a general instruction, but if the hon. Member has any information on the matter, I shall be glad to receive it.
