HC Deb 04 March 1937 vol 321 cc529-30
40. Sir Nicholas Grattan-Doyle

asked the Home Secretary whether he has considered the recommendation from the Association of Municipal Corporations that he should introduce legislation giving local authorities a larger measure of control over advertisement hoardings; and whether, before coming to a decision on the matter, he will consult the bodies representing the advertisers on the hoardings?

Sir J. Simon

I understand that a recommendation on this subject was recently adopted by the association, but it has not yet been formally communicated to me. My hon. Friend's suggestion will be borne in mind in the consideration of the recommendation when received.

Mr. H. G. Williams

Has the right hon. Gentleman received any recommendation with regard to the greater control of this House over the Association of Municipal Corporations?
