HC Deb 03 March 1937 vol 321 cc357-8
51. Mr. Garro Jones

asked the Minister for the Co-ordination of Defence whether he has established any official or unofficial censorship upon the publication of information in the Press relative to the national defences; and whether such restrictions apply to the technical as well as to the daily Press?

Sir T. Inskip

No censorship of the Press is exercised. From time to time the Press are asked to refrain from publishing certain items of information the disclosure of which would be prejudicial to national security.
