asked the President of the Board of Trade in connection with the application of the Draft Convention on Seamen's Hours of Work to ships between 2,000 and 2,500 gross registered tons, how many ships are there in the British Mercantile Marine whose gross registered tonnage is between 2,000 and 2,500 tons?

The number of vessels registered under Part I of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1894, of 2,000 tons and under 2,500 tons gross that remained on the register at ports in the United Kingdom on the 31st December, 1935, the latest date for which the information is available, was 158.
