asked the President of the Board of Trade for what period the Departmental Committee on Compulsory Insurance has been in existence; on how many occasions it has sat to take evidence; whether it has completed its investigations; and whether he has any information as to the date of the submission of its report?

The Departmental Committee on Compulsory Insurance was appointed on 6th February, 1936. It has met to take evidence on 18 occasions. I understand that the committee have completed their investigations, and are considering their report.
