HC Deb 24 June 1937 vol 325 c1378
69. Mr. Chorlton

asked the Minister of Transport whether he proposes to issue a map indicating the improvements it is proposed to carry out on the trunk roads that have been or will shortly be taken over by him?

The Minister of Transport (Mr. Burgin)

My hon. Friend will find a list of the more important schemes in Appendix II to the Estimate for the Roads, etc. Vote (Class VI, 15) and progress will be recorded in the annual reports on the Administration of the Road Fund. I do not think that there would be sufficient demand to justify the considerable expense of publishing a special series of maps of sufficient scale to show the improvements in any detail.
