HC Deb 24 June 1937 vol 325 cc1380-1
Mr. Attlee

May I ask the Prime Minister to state the business for next week?

The Prime Minister

Monday, Committee stage of the Agriculture (Money) Resolution; consideration of the Government of India and Burma Orders in Council now before the House.

Tuesday and Wednesday, Committee stage of the Finance Bill. On Tuesday it is also proposed to take the Report stage of the Agriculture (Money) Resolution.

The business for Thursday and Friday will be announced later.

On any day, if there is time, other Orders will be taken.

Mr. Maxton

May I ask a question about to-day's business? There is a Motion down in relation to the Scottish Milk Marketing Scheme, and there is an Amendment to it on the Paper. This may be a matter of considerable controversy, and I want to ask the Prime Minister whether it is the intention of the Government to keep the House late on this matter?

The Prime Minister

There is no intention to keep the House late.

Mr. Macquisten

Does the right hon. Gentleman realise that this will be a very serious matter for Scottish agriculture, that thousands have been ruined by the scheme and that an attempt is being made to rivet anew this ruinous scheme on its victims?
