HC Deb 22 June 1937 vol 325 c1027
80. Major Carver

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether his attention has been called to the losses to farmers through the worrying of their sheep by dogs; whether he intends to take steps to mitigate the nuisance; and, if: so, on what lines?

Captain Waterhouse (Lord of the Treasury)

I have been asked to reply. My right hon. Friend is not aware that there has been any recent increase in the number of cases of sheep-worrying by dogs. The various regulations made by county authorities to mitigate this nuisance are, it is believed, being effectively enforced but if my hon. Friend has any information indicating that it is increasing, perhaps he would be good enough to send it to my right hon. Friend.
