asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he can give any information as regards the scope of the committee which has been set up in Kenya in connection with Sir Alan Pim's recommendation for the reduction of payment on account of extra huts?

The committee in question was appointed by the Governor in Council in an order dated 1st May with the following terms of reference: To review and report upon the conditions which led to Sir Alam Pim's recommendation in paragraph 408 (1) of his report for 'the reduction of the payment on account of extra huts,' and to advise as to the adoption of this recommendation in the manner indicated in paragraph 76 of that report, or in any modified form; due regard being paid to that part of paragraph 110 of the Walsh-Montgomery Report on Native Taxation which refers to the status of women as taxpayers.
