Mr. Mathersasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he has considered the petition of the Annandale and 182 Eskdale branch of the East of Scotland Milk Producers' Federation presenting reasons why they should be included in the eastern region instead of the southwest; and whether he is prepared to grant the producers' request?

The representations made will be fully considered in the examination of the recommendations of the Milk Re-organisation Commission, but pending decisions on the Commission's main recommendations it would be premature to consider the hypothetical question of regional boundaries.
