§ 2. Mr. Shinwell (for Mr. T. Johnston)asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he has now examined the share-pushing activities of the persons who have operated the concern known as the Building Construction Investment Company; and whether it is the intention of the Government to take any steps in this case?
Mr. StanleyA winding-up order in respect of the Building Construction Investment Company was made on 12th April last; and as a result of the meeting of creditors and contributories held on 20th May the Official Receiver was appointed liquidator of the company. The affairs of the company are still under investigation by the Official Receiver, who hopes to be in a position to report the result of his investigations to me shortly. In the meantime I regret that I cannot make any statement.
