HC Deb 10 June 1937 vol 324 c1993

Again considered in Committee.

[Sir DENNIS HERBERT in the Chair.]

Question again proposed, "That those words be there inserted."

4.33 P.m.

Lieut.-Colonel Colville

I was pointing out that the allowance in question should go to the person who actually pays the cost of any depreciation resulting from the vibration of machinery. That person is normally the owner of the property, but it is not intended to exclude one who has a long lease and who is responsible for making good any such depreciation. I do not think the Amendment is quite satisfactory in form, but my right hon. Friend will examine the point before the Report stage. We appreciate that it is a point of substance, and our desire is that the present practice should be continued.

Colonel Sandeman Allen

In view of the undertaking given I beg to ask leave to withdraw the Amendment.

Amendment, by leave, withdrawn.

Clause, as amended, ordered to stand part of the Bill.
