asked the President of the Board of Trade (1) the number of extensions made to existing factories during 1936; and the number of factories closed during this period?

(2) the number of new factories opened in Great Britain during 1936 and the number of persons employed?

The desired information is not yet available, but it will appear in the Survey of Industrial Development for 1936 which will, I hope, be published towards the end of next month.

Mr. Griffiths

Will the right hon. Gentleman forward it to me at the House of Commons?
