§ Mr. Ormsby-GoreI have recently received a copy of a resolution passed at a public meeting held in Trinidad on 1oth April this year in favour of increased unofficial representation on the Legislative Council. The Governor of Trinidad has been asked for his observations and recommendations on this resolution. and on their receipt I will give the matter my consideration.
§ Mr. LeachDoes the Governor on the spot not regularly inform the right hon. Gentleman that His Majesty's loyal subjects in Trinidad have been discussing this matter for a long time past?
§ Mr. Ormsby-GoreNo. I have not had any representations from the Governor on this particular matter, but, in addition to 1004 the representations which have been addressed to me from Trinidad, I have also seen the representative of Trinidad who came over for the Coronation, and I informed him that I was looking into the matter forthwith.
