Mr. CooperThe estimated British figures are, some 570,000 tons building, and about 94,000 tons projected, that is, 3078 authorised by Parliament but not yet ordered. According to the information in my possession, the corresponding figures for the United States of America are, some 347,000 tons building, ordered or about to be ordered, and, in addition, roughly 40 vessels projected under forthcoming programmes.
