Following is the reply: The following table shows the total numbers of regular and of casual workers in England and Wales on 4th June in each of the past six years, as returned by occupiers of agricultural holdings of over one acre in extent. No statistics are available from which a reliable estimate could be made of the aggregate amount of wages paid in agriculture.
