asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has arrived at a decision on the question of the suggested partition of the Ijebu Province, Nigeria?

Mr. Ormsby-Gore

I have not taken any decision on the matter to which the hon. Member refers, as the Governor has not yet submitted it for my consideration.

Mr. Mathers

In view of the time that has been taken over this matter, may I ask the right hon. Gentleman to refrain from coming to any decision during the Recess?

Mr. Ormsby-Gore

It entirely depends on the nature of the proposal and the recommendation I receive from Nigeria.
