I have not yet received the terms of the reply made yesterday by the Chinese Government to the representations which, as I informed the House last night, were made on 17th July by the Japanese representative in Nanking. In the meanwhile I have received confirmation of the issue by General Chiang Kai-shek at Kuling of a declaration in terms which have already been published here. His
