HC Deb 07 July 1937 vol 326 c333
26. Mr. McEntee

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether he is aware that the alleged violation of the Fair Wages Clause by Messrs. F. W. Rigby and Company was first reported to his Department on 13th March last; that for some time since the union concerned has been paying strike pay to those members who have ceased work; that the long delay in coming to a decision regarding the complaint is having the effect of aiding and abetting this firm in their anti-trade union policy; and whether he can give any assurance that a decision will be reached without further delay?

The Under-Secretary of State for Air (Lieut.-Colonel Muirhead)

I regret that the complicated issues involved in the investigation of the complaint have not made it possible to bring this matter to a conclusion. I can assure the hon. Member that every endeavour is being made to reach a decision as early as possible.
