HC Deb 07 July 1937 vol 326 c335
32. Mr. Joel

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether, with regard to the proposed establishment of an African-Australian air service, he can state the proposed stopping places of such a service?

Lieut.-Colonel Muirhead

Stopping places that have been mentioned in this connection are, I understand, the Keeling Islands, Diego Garcia and Seychelles, but no reconnaissance has been made with a view to establishing the practicability of using those islands for such a purpose, nor has any Government approval been given for the project.
