HC Deb 01 July 1937 vol 325 c2150
55 and 56. Mr. Sexton

asked the Minister of Agriculture (1) the average price per ton at the kilns of lime for agricultural purposes in England and Wales for the years 1934, 1935 and 1936, respectively;

(2) the annual production of lime in this country for agricultural purposes for the years 1913, 1935 and 1936, respectively, and the localities of production?

The Minister of Agriculture (Mr. W. S. Morrison)

I regret that the figures asked for by the hon. Member are not obtainable, owing to the difficulty of distinguishing between lime produced for industrial and for agricultural purposes, and to the numerous grades and qualities of lime involved. The hon. Member will appreciate that lime and chalk are very widely produced in Great Britain.
