asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air what is the outcome of the joint inquiry of the Services into the question of butter versus margarine now going on for almost a year?

This question is being considered with the War Office in conjunction with other proposals affecting conditions of service, and it is not possible to announce any decision at the present moment.

Can the right hon. Baronet tell me the explanation of this lengthy, mysterious and very reprehensible delay?
