asked the President of the Board of Education the requirements, expressed as a rate in the pound, for elementary education and secondary education, respectively, during the year 1935 in the following cities: Bournemouth, Eastbourne, Hastings, Stoke-on-Trent, Birmingham, and Salford?

Following is the answer:

As regards the second part of the table the Board have no information as to the amount of expenditure out of rate fund moneys on secondary education alone, and the figures relate to higher education as a whole.
