HC Deb 25 January 1937 vol 319 cc550-1
13. Captain Graham

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the Japanese Government have yet given any proof of the reality of their desire, officially expressed on 14th January, for a furtherance of the traditional friendship between Great Britain and Japan by tendering a satisfactory apology for the treatment by their officials of a British naval officer and three naval ratings at Keelung on 7th October last?

15. Sir Charles Cayzer

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the Japanese Government, further to their interim reply on the subject, have now rendered full satisfaction to His Majesty's Government in connection with the ill-treatment of the three British sailors at Keelung?

Viscount Cranborne

This matter is still under discussion with the Japanese Government, who have not yet given their final reply.
