HC Deb 25 February 1937 vol 320 cc2169-70
35. Mr. Short

asked the Home Secretary the personnel of the committee dealing with the affairs of the Metropolitan Police Orphanage; and when the committee is likely to report?

Sir J. Simon

I am informed that the committee consists of: The Deputy-Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police; a senior officer of the Metropolitan Police nominated by the General Court of the Orphanage; a senior officer of the City Police nominated by the Commissioner of the City Police, and a representative of the Metropolitan Police Branch Boards. It is impossible to state how soon the committee will complete their examination of the position, but they hope to be able to present an interim report to the General Court on the more urgent points at an early date.
