asked the Home Secretary the number of proceedings and convictions for drunkenness in the county and City of London and the Metropolitan police area, respectively, during the calendar year 1936?

Following is the answer:

The figures for the county of London are 17,113 proceedings and 14,945 convictions; for the City of London, 212 proceedings and 187 convictions; and for the Metropolitan police district, 20,094 proceedings and 17,433 convictions.
