§ 86. Major Owenasked the Minister of Agriculture when it is proposed to put into operation the recommendations made by the Committee on the Fishing Industry of the Economic Advisory Council in its report in 1932, particularly in relation to inshore fishery harbours?
§ Mr. W. S. MorrisonSince the issue of the report to which the hon. Member refers, the position of the British fishing industry has been surveyed by the Sea Fish Commission which was set up for that purpose in 1933. Some of the recommendations made by the commission 1370 have already been acted on, and others are still under consideration. The Development Commissioners are always willing, within the limits of the funds available, to examine on their merits and in relation to the requirements of the inshore fisheries, applications which may be made for advances from the Development Fund in aid of individual harbours.
