§ Sir K. WoodThe building of houses by local authorities is only one factor in the present demand for building materials. My hon. Friend can rest assured that the cost of these houses and the prices of building materials are being closely watched by my Department, and where tenders have been unduly high I have asked for them to be reconsidered.
