HC Deb 17 February 1937 vol 320 cc1185-6
62. Mr. Malcolm MacMillan

asked the Minister of Transport whether, in view of the fact that the Department of Agriculture in Scotland has refused, the local people are too poor, and the County Council of Ross and Cromarty unwilling, to bring the cart road to the village of Orinsay, Isle of Lewis, up to the standard required for modern transport, he will consider the urgent needs of the people of Orinsay and take action to have the present grievance met?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

I will consider any proposal from the county council, pro- vided that they are willing to place this road on the county list of highways.
