Mr. CooperThe number of men at present employed in connection with the new factory at Irvine is 227. Of this number 95 per cent. are locally-engaged men. The approximate number to be employed when the factory is in full operation is 650, of whom it is estimated that approximately 90 per cent. will be local.
§ Lieut.-Colonel MooreIs the right hon. Gentleman aware of the peculiar suitability, from the strategic and economic point of view, for a further development of the Irvine factory, and will he bear that in mind?
