HC Deb 11 February 1937 vol 320 c566
28. Mr. Day

asked the Home Secretary whether, with a view to preventing persons unconsciously breaking the law, he will consider having uniformed police officers placed on the measured distances in the Royal Parks instead of concealed police officers in plain clothes hiding behind fences or obstructions operating police speed-traps against motorists who exceed 20 miles an hour?

Mr. Lloyd

The suggestion, which has been made previously, has been reconsidered, but the Commissioner of Police remains of opinion that the present arrangements should be maintained for the proper enforcement of the speed limit in the Parks.
