§ 81. Mr. R. Gibsonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is aware that there is an acute shortage of houses in and around Dornoch, Sutherlandshire; and what steps he will take to have the shortage met?
The Under-Secretary of State for Scotland (Wr. Wedderburn)My right hon. Friend is in close touch with the town council of Dornoch and the county council of Sutherland, who are responsible for the provision of houses for the working classes in and around Dornoch, who inform him that they have no reason to believe that there is an acute shortage of houses in that area. He will, however, be glad to consider any evidence of a shortage which the hon. And learned Member may care to submit to him.
