§ 65. Mr. Rhys Daviesasked the Minister of Health whether, in view of the fact that in America and other countries insurance companies spend large sums on health education, he has examined the possibility of securing the co-operation of British insurance companies in the proposed national campaign for health education and physical training; and whether he proposes to invite the insurance companies to contribute towards the cost of the national campaign?
§ Sir K. WoodThe general question of health education and propaganda is now tinder consideration, but I understand that some work of this nature is already undertaken by insurance companies and I should certainly welcome its extension.
§ Mr. DaviesWould the right hon. Gentleman bear in mind that the campaign will obviously benefit the insurance companies who deal with industrial policies?
§ Sir K. WoodOn the other hand, the length of life, as the hon. Gentleman is aware, is not satisfactory, I believe, so far as the annuity side of the business is concerned.
