HC Deb 22 December 1937 vol 330 c1974
69. Mr. James Hall

asked the Minister of Transport why, when appointing, representatives of transport and dock undertakings and of trade organisations to the Port and Transit Committee, he did not also appoint representatives of trades unions whose members would be-directly affected by a diversion of seaborne traffic from East Coast ports to West Coast ports in the event of war?

Mr. Burgin

I am obliged to the hon. Member for his suggestion and am already considering the most suitable way of bringing representatives of labour into consultation.
