HC Deb 21 December 1937 vol 330 c1767
40. Sir Nicholas Grattan-Doyle

asked the Secretary of State for War what part of Woolwich Barracks has been in use since the period of the Crimean War; and whether it is proposed to replace these buildings in the near future?

The Secretary of State for War (Mr. Hore-Belisha)

Yes, Sir. It is contemplated within the limits of a programme estimated at £7,500,000 to modernise old barracks as the situation permits.

Mr. Davidson

Will the right hon. Gentleman also replace some of the Crimean veterans?
