HC Deb 13 December 1937 vol 330 c817
51. Mr. R. Gibson

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty what is his projected programme for the building of cruisers, destroyers, torpedo-boats, submarines, and other naval craft during the ensuing year; when the orders for these are likely to be placed; and what vessels it is intended should be built at Greenock?

The Civil Lord of the Admiralty (Lieut.-Colonel Llewellin)

I am unable at present to give any indication of next year's new construction programme, particulars of which will, in accordance with normal practice, be announced when the Navy Estimates for that year are presented to the House.
