HC Deb 02 December 1937 vol 329 cc2226-7
20. Mr. Mainwaring

asked the Minister of Labour whether, in order to maintain social services, to increase the amenities, and assist in the removal of eyesores within the Special Areas, the advice of the Special Areas commissioners in this connection has been considered; and whether his Department is prepared to give effect to this by giving additional grants to the local authorities affected?

Mr. E. Brown

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given on Monday last to a similar question by the hon. and gallant Member for Cardiff, South (Captain A. Evans).
