HC Deb 29 April 1937 vol 323 c527
44. Sir N. Grattan-Doyle

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, with a view to the expansion of the television service, he will favourably consider the issue of a loan for such purpose by the British Broadcasting Corporation, such loan being a first charge on the Corporation's income from radio licences?

Mr. Chamberlain

I am not aware that the Corporation has any such proposal in mind. It would, therefore, be premature for me to express any opinion upon it.
