HC Deb 29 April 1937 vol 323 c516
24. Captain Arthur Evans

asked the Home Secretary whether he is now in a position to make information available regarding the question of air-raid shelters affording protection against gas and against splinters from high-explosive bombs and the, possibility of constructing underground garages and rendering them proof against incendiary bombs and poison gas?

Mr. Lloyd

I am unable at present to add anything to the reply which I gave to my hon. and gallant Friend's question on this subject on 18th March.

Captain Evans

Can my hon. Friend give any indication when he will be in a position to make a statement on this all-important question?

Mr. Lloyd

I am afraid I cannot. A very great deal of work is proceeding, and it is a very complicated subject.
