HC Deb 21 April 1937 vol 322 c1757
79. Mr. Stephen

asked the Minister of Labour whether he can make a statement about the industrial dispute at Parkhead Forge, Glasgow, and also about the dispute in which the shipbuilding engineering apprentices are engaged; and what steps he proposes to take to promote a settlement?

Mr. E. Brown

As regards the first part of the question, the hon. Member is aware that a ballot of the workpeople was taken yesterday. I cannot make any further statement at this juncture. As regards the second part, I have nothing to add to the replies given to the hon. Members for St. Rollox (Mr. Leonard), Govan (Mr. Maclean) and Gorbals (Mr. Buchanan) on 15th April.
