asked the Secretary for Mines what progress is being made in the various districts with regard to safety-first classes for young persons employed in the mining industry?

The number of boys enrolled in the new session of safety classes which opened last autumn was a little over 10,000, and the number of classes over 400. I will send the hon. Member figures for the different coalfields.
