§ 73. Sir Reginald Blairasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, as representing British taxpayers who have invested in the Leopoldina Railway Company and the Leopoldina Railway Terminal Company, he will invite the Brazilian Government to include a settlement of the question of rates, fares, and working regulations respecting these two companies in the pending negotiations about British-held defaulted public obligations of the Brazilian Government?
§ Viscount CranborneI would refer my hon. Friend to the answer given to my hon. Friend the Member for North Newcastle-on-Tyne (Sir N. Grattan-Doyle) on 1st February. I would add that the affairs of these companies are an en- 1593 tirely separate question from that of the Brazilian public debt, and I do not think that any purpose would be served by treating them together.
