asked the Minister of Labour the general hourly rate for labourers employed in civil engineering in the Stroud rural district, and how this rate was fixed?

The rate of wages agreed upon by the Civil Engineering Construction Conciliation Board for navvies and labourers in the Stroud rural district is 1s. per hour. The classification of this area for wage purposes was determined by an agreement of the board on 8th July, 1936.
